I got to work early today, and as I drove through the parking lot, I realized there was no available spots. Well, there was spots, but you have to pay for the parking meter, and I didn’t have any change for them. I have a parking permit, and when I come to work everyday, I usually get lucky and find a spot in the lot closest to where I work.
I was getting ready to leave the lot when I saw a car leave. It’s owner must work at the university center like I do because I see this car almost everyday. They must get to work very early, too, because they usually have a good spot. I was so thankful, because today I won’t leave at 5pm once I get off of work like I usually do. I’ll stay until after 9pm since I have dinner plans and a campus ministry meeting, all at the university center, one after the other.
I was thanking Jesus, and turned into the part of the lot where they had come from. Not only was there a parking space, but it was a great parking space! Close to where I work and where I’ll be later tonight! I was thinking to myself, “Thanks, Lord! You didn’t have to do that!” And then I heard Him whisper, “Why wouldn’t I?” Sometimes I forget that God delights in giving to His children, even the little things. He doesn’t have to give me a good parking space for me to know that He’s a good God. But He does anyways.
“The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”
